Betty Jean Cooper Humphrey, 92, widow of Cecil “June” Humphrey since 2017, joined him in eternal rest on October 2, 2024. She was the daughter of Dewy Cooper and Nettie Jackson Cooper, being one of their 4 children.
Betty was a kind loving person who was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother who always cooked, canned fruits and vegetables, kept an immaculate house, and enjoyed living the country life. She will be forever remembered by her children Wayne Humphrey, wife Debbie, Jean Ann Hammond (Joe Rhinehimer), Karen Detherage, husband Kevin, and Susan Miller, husband Paul; grandchildren, Ashley Miller (Brian Caudill), Steven Hammond, Emily Wheeler, husband Gerald, and Lanie Jane Humphrey:great grandchildren Tristin and Dusty Miller, Maci and Ryker Wheeler. Childhood memories will be treasured by sister Juanita Morgan and Tommy “Bill” Cooper. Gathered at the river, Betty will be welcomed by her son Kevin Humphrey, grandsons Shannon Miller, Jason Humphrey, and brother Cecil Cooper, sister Christine Todd, as well as many other relatives that have gone before her. A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday October 8, in Maple Grove Cemetery with Bill Bales and Mickey Stinnett officiating Honoring her as pallbearers will be Aaron Hager, Kevin McDonald, Cecil “Junior” Upton Darrick Gibson, Paul Miller Kevin Detherage. Honorary Bearers will be Johnny Hager, Jan Hager, Mark Ballard , Joe Rhinehimer Leonard Fitch Jackie Graham and friends of Bethel Christian Church
