Lexington: Alben B. Cook, Sr., of Scarbough Dr., died Tues., Oct. 9, at St. Joseph East Hospital. A native of Jessamine County he was born Sept. 7, 1938, to the late Julius C. and Meadie Lowry Cook. Alben was a retired Lieutenant for the Security Dept at Keenland he also served as Deputy Sheriff in Jessamine County and worked for the City of Nicholasville Police Dept. during which time he became affectionately know as ‘Cookie’. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. He is survived by Phyllis Huff Cook, his wife , a son Alben B. Cook, Jr. of Texas, 3 brothers Charles Clark Cook, Allen Neal Cook, and Logan Gerald Cook, special friend James Lusk, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers William Cook and Julius C. Cook, Jr., 4 sisters Mary, Margaret, Imogene, and Elizabeth Cook.

Services will be 11 A.M. Monday at Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Lusk and friends from Squires. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
