Albert E. Vollmer, Sr., 78, widower of Pauline joined her in eternal rest on Thursday, June 8, 2017. He was a native of Sunnyside Washington, a retired employee of Dakota Air Craft where he worked as a draftsman, and a US Air Force veteran. He was a simple man who loved gardening. designing wood signs, and burning his woodstove. He leaves these and many more memories with his children Albert E. Vollmer, Jr. Darren L. Vollmer, wife Cheryl, and Vicki Allen, husband John. grandchildren Kevin Elder, Sarah Reeves, Alyssa Vollmer, John Robert Allen, Jr. and Heather Ann Allen, great grandchildren Grant and Emily, as well as a brother Ruben Vollmer. He will be laid to rest with military honors at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 13, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. His family will greet friends on Tuesday beginning at 9:30 AM and ending at 10:30 AM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. “When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, miss me a little—-but not too long, remember the love that we shared and let me go”.
