Nicholasville: Allen Stanley Moore, 92, of Kimberly Heights died Tuesday, July 20, aat Ephriam McDowell Hospital. He was the widower of Mary E. Moore who died in 2009. A native of Garrard County he was the son of the late John L. and Addie Johns Moore. He was a farmer, a Kentucky Colonel, and member of Roberts Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include his children Wanda (Jerry) Houp, Nicholasville, Barbara (Gene) Shields, Danville, and Joe Allen Moore, Miamisburg, OH, 9 grandchildren Mike Moore, Jackie (Steve) Mohn, Paul (Amanda) Schuler, Becky (Chuck) Burrus, Frankie Shields, Jodie (Billy) Noe, Allen (Jennifer) Shields, Chris Houp, and Stephanie (Bob) Byrd, 26 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and sister in law Marie Moore, Nicholasville.
Services 11:00 AM Friday, July 23, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Shields and Dr. Sewell Woodard officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers Mike Moore, Frankie Shields, Billy Noe, Chuck Burrus, Bob Byrd, and Allen Shields. Visitation will be Thursday, July 22, from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
