Allene B. Fisher, 92, widow of Lyman Fisher, Sr. since 2002, joined her husband in eternal rest on Thursday, June 7, 2018.  She was a native of Jessamine County born March 9, 1926, to the late Riley and Etta Aldridge Tate.  Allene moved to Mt. Vernon 8 years ago to live with her son Lyman, Jr. and his wife Debbie, and most recently was a resident of the Brodhead Health and Rehabilitation where she enjoyed sharing her musical talent.  The residents were always waiting to hear her come to play the piano and sing.  She was a member of the Jimmy Hazelwoood Ridgerunners in the 1940’s, which played on WLAP.  She was a gifted writer and wrote many poems for the Oncology Department in Danville.  She was the owner and operator of Allene’s Restaurant for many years and was known to be the best cook around.  She was a member of the Manchester Baptist Church, where her son is the pastor.  In addition to her son Lyman and wife Debbie, she leaves her legacy with her son David Fisher and wife Donna Sue, 7 grandchildren David Fisher, Jr. Teresa Henrick, Lisa Morehead, Riley Fisher, Stephanie Cromer, Linda Fisher, and Rachael Chasteen, as well as numerous great and great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law and best friend Laura Perkins.  She was preceded in death by a son Samuel Leslie Fisher and a brother James Tate.  A Remembrance Service will be held on Monday June 11, at 2:00 PM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, and Allene will be laid to rest beside her husband in Maple Grove Cemetery.  Honoring her as pallbearers will be Riley Fisher, Daniel, Stephen and Jason Morehead, Tyler Graves, Jesse Johnson, Troy Cromer and Rocky Chasteen.  Her family will greet friends on Monday June 11, starting at 11:00 AM until time of Service.  “Allene was here for a reason, which was to be a source of love, and she watched it ripple all around her”.  Hager & Cundiff is honored to serve the Fisher family.
