Alvin Lowry, 84, joined his loving wife Ruth in eternal rest on Sunday, Feb. 16.  He was a native of Fayette County, born Sept. 13, 1935, to the late John and Isabel Cassity Lowry. Alvin was a veteran of the US Army, a retired employee of IBM having worked in Quality Control, and member of the Antique Farm Machinery Association.  He was an original Elder at Southland Christian Church, Southern Acres Church and Jessamine Christian Church.  He will be fondly remembered by his sons David and Mark Lowry, wife Stephanie, grandchildren Hunter Lowry, Amber Moon, Clayton Diles and Sadie Lowry, great grandchildren Ashlyn Deaton and Brantley Lowry.  His sister Nora Feeback will cherish their childhood memories.  He was preceded in death by a sister Jewell Davies, and brothers John and Alonso Lowry.  His Remembrance Service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, Feb. 20, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.  He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Maple Grove Cemetery following the Service.  Honoring him as pallbearers will be Hunter Lowry, Clayton Diles Lowry, Matt Moon, Danny Deaton, Steve Taylor and Randy Jones.  Honorary Bearers will be Ronald and Donald Anderson, Fenton McCauley, Bob and Linda Woolums, Larry Miller, and Harold Hill.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday Feb.19, beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM.  “ When I have come to the end of the road and the sun as set for me, miss me a little, but remember the love and friendship we once shared, miss be but let me go”  Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust the Lowry family has given to us.
