Ann Parker Lowry, 85, widow of Martin Lowry, joined him in eternal rest on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Ann was one of four children born to the late James Farmer and Margaret Eileen Sullivan Pennington. She was born July 5, 1939, in Lexington, Kentucky, where she attended school until she married Martin Lowry. Ann was a retired customer service employee of the City of Nicholasville.

If you knew Ann, you would know she was an avid and faithful sports fan, no matter what the sport. She particularly loved watching her grandchildren and her beloved Kentucky Wildcats. She always attended games or, in later years, watched them on television with a house full of guests to help her cheer for victory. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and walking. You could often see her walking in Walmart, Lowe’s, or at Lake Mingo, which became a habit for her.

She will be remembered by her daughter Kim Wallace (Travis), her sisters Lynn Cox and Eileen Frisinger (Bruce), her grandchildren (the light of her life) Ashlynn Kimble, Alex Tegt (Lee), Grayson Lee (Eric), Chase Tranter (Olivia), Kennedy Tranter, Chancey Wallace, and Reece Wallace, as well as great-grandchildren Cash, Carson, Lily, Skarlette, and AJ. She will be missed by her constant companion, dog Bluebell, who spent many hours in her lap enjoying all the attention and countless treats.

Other than her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband Martin, daughter Karen Lowry, brother James Scott Pennington, and grandson Houston Wallace. Her Remembrance Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 15, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, with Rev. Pamela Rucker officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband and daughter in Maple Grove Cemetery following the service.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Mark Lowry, Mike Godbey, Steve Ritchie, Steve Feck, Gary Feck, David Darlington, and Eddie Kappes. Honorary bearers will be John McDaniel, Jimmy McDaniel, Angie Godbey, Nancy Corman, and Vicki Corman. Her family will greet friends beginning at 10:30 AM until the time of the service and has requested all guests wear UK attire.

“Good friends are hard to find and impossible to forget.”

All arrangements are under the direction of Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. We express our deepest sympathy to Ann’s family and friends.
