October 20, 1925 - November 07, 2016
A matriarch of the Cobb family who gave so freely of her time and love to members of her family, Anna Pauline “Pobba” McDowell, 91, entered into eternal rest at the home of her niece Dayna Shewmaker on Monday Nov. 7. A native of Jessamine County, she was born Oct. 20, 1925, to the late Luther and Eudel Hager Cobb. She was a fun loving lady who loved to sing and always sang “A Tiny Turned Up Nose” to all the babies who arrived to the Cobb family. She also enjoyed reading, especially the Readers Digest, sewing, and working in her yard. Pabba will be missed and remembered by nieces Dayna Shewmaker, husband Jerry and Melanie Kim Cobb, nephews Roger and Ricky Cobb, sister-in-law Dottie Cobb along with a host of great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was preceded in death by brothers Huston and Eulan Cobb and his wife Helen, a niece Terri Sallee, and a great nephew Spencer Day. She will be remembered by the family with a Remembrance Memorial 11:00 AM Saturday Nov. 12 at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, and her family will receive friends at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery on Saturday. Her family suggest donations be made in her memory to Hospice of the Bluegrass. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
