Anna Louise (Thompson) Riester

Anna Louise Thompson Riester, 76, a life long resident of Jessamine County entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Nov. 7.  She was born in Lexington, KY to the late Robert Waller and Anna Elizabeth Wilson Thompson on Nov. 21, 1940.  Anna was a member of the Wilmore Presbyterian Church, a retired employee of the Jockey Club where she devoted 35 years, loved gardening and expected her grandchildren who she loved to spend time with to love it as well and was dedicated to her cats.  She was proud to have been educated at the Wilmore High School class of 1958, continuing her high school education at the Nicholasville High School and went on to earn her degree from the University of Kentucky the same year her daughter graduated.   She leaves her legacy with her children Karl”Casey” Clayton Riester, wife Melanie, Robert E. “Robbie” Riester, and Lee Anna Riester Disponette, husband Lyons and her grandchildren Karl Wesley Riester, wife Jessica, Patricia Elizabeth “Trisha” Riester, Anna Victoria Disponette and Josie Anna Elizabeth Disponette.  She is also survived by a brother Robert W Thompson, Jr. and wife Joyce and their daughter Lisa Wells.  She was preceded in death by her former husband Gary Riester.  A Remembrance Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, Nov. 10, at Wilmore Presbyterian Church where there will be a short visitation starting at 10:00 AM.  She will be laid to rest in Wilmore Cemetery following the Service.  Pallbearers will Be Chris and Andy Johns, Grant Wilson, John Paul Wells, Rusty Thompson, and Shawn Preston.  Honorary bearers will be Steve Wilson, Jeffery Wells, David McGoun, Bradley Johns, Garland Thompson, Bob Reynolds, Glen and Allen Wilson, the Wilmore Class of 1958, the active and inactive Elders of the Wilmore Presbyterian Church Maggie and Stew Winstall, JoAnn and Ken Horn and Eva Jane Jacobs.  Serving as ushers at the church will be Chris Bellman, Tommy Wells, Jeff Riester, and John Settles.  Her family will receive friends at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home starting at 5:00 PM and ending 8:00 PM on Thursday, Nov. 9.  Anna requested donations be made to the Wilmore Presbyterian Church.  Hager & Cundiff is proud to serve her family.
