Anne Louise McMurtry Sharp, 93, died Sat. Feb. 16, in the home of her late grandfather, W. J. Reynolds where she was also born on March 4, 1919. She was the daughter of the late John Fulton and Alice Reynolds McMurtry, and widow of Tommy D. Sharp who died in 1973. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and in the early years was an organist. She was a talented pianist, noted historian and had been very involved in the D.A.R.
Mrs. Sharp was also a former Librarian and English teacher having received her Master degrees from the University of Kentucky. She is survived by a daughter Mary Beth Bishop, husband Philip, granddaughters Natalie and Elizabeth Bishop, and brother John Hunt McMurtry II and wife Ruth. She was preceded in death by brothers Fulton and Joe McMurtry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Thurs. Feb. 21, at St. Luke Catholic Church. Honoring her as pallbearers will be will be Carr, Jay, and Jason McMurtry, Phil Bishop, Theron Owens, and Ray Parker. Visitation will be 10:00 am until service time at St Luke's. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Maple Grove Cemetery. Flowers are welcome but donations may be made in her memory to St. Luke Catholic Church, Nicholasville, KY.
