Annie Katherine Allison

Nicholasville: Annie Katherine Wells Allison, 87, formerly of Beaumont Rd., died Friday, March 23, at Royal Manor Nursing Home. She was a native of Jessamine County, born Jan. 8, 1920, to the late Launty Townsend and Ural Blakeman Wells. She the widow of Walter Allison who died in 1990. She was a psychiatric aid and worked for the US Public Health Service, a retiree of the Federal Prison Bureau and a member of the Union for Public Health Services. She also served as caregiver for Gabby Ward Bradshaw and Flossie Hayden. Kay was a member of the Nicholasville Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School to the York Class for 30 years and participated in the Baptist Women’s Mission Union.

She is survived by her daughter Sharon Allison Reynolds and husband Bill, 2 sisters Doris Wells Wise and Joyce Wells Withers both of Nicholasville, 2 granddaughters Michele Denise Griffin and husband Vernon, Stanford and Dora Katherine Johnson and husband Brian, Nicholasville, a step granddaughter Mary Ester Mulcahy, TX, a great grandson William Everett Meador and 2 step great grandchildren John Glen and Rebecca Frances Mulcahy. She was preceded in death by a brother William ‘Billy’ Wells in 2006.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tues. March 27, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Allan Harrod officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be W. E. Wells, Jr., Kevin Wells, Bobby Sallee, Troy Sallee, Neville Wise, Steve Withers, and William Keith Wells. Honorary bearers will be April Sallee, Heather Irvin, Maggie Irvin, Ashley Sallee, Laney Grace Hart, and McKinley Marie Sallee. Visitation will be on Monday, March 26, from 4 to 9 PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her memory to Nicholasville Baptist Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
