Anthony Michael ‘Buddy’ Pine, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 7, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was a native of New York, born Oct. 5, 1927, to the late Anthony and Marie Taylor Pine. He was a veteran of the US Army and a retired engineer for IBM having started working for the company in 1948 in Poughkeepsie, NY in product testing. After his retirement in 1982 Buddy enjoyed golfing, gardening, and model airplanes. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Mitsy Mackey Pine, children Robert Pine wife Sharon, Corinne Sgorbissa, Lynn Cheever, Toni Cucci husband Alex, and step son Rick Mandt, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, an aunt Margaret Goodall, and a nephew William Ricks.
Services will be l:00PM Wed. Jan 11, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery with Military Honors. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Joseph White, Peter Myers, Dr. Carl Russell, Col. Howard F. McKenzie, Robert Pine, Rick Mandt, and Alex Cucci. Honorary bearers will be L. H. Eisenhauer, Arthur Kurz, and Bonnie Morgan. Visitation will be on Tues. Jan. 10 from 4 to 9 PM. Donations in Buddy’s memory may be made to your favorite charity.
