Arnold Clyde Trimble, 82, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011, in Lexington, KY., after a long illness. He was born May 9, 1928, near Ivyton in Magoffin County, KY., the son of Pearl Rice and James Arthur Trimble.

Mr. Trimble attended elementary school at Dry Bread Creek. After moving to Ashland, he graduated as Valedictorian from Boyd County High School in 1946. He began his life-long career with the C&O Railroad, beginning as a rodman on a surveying crew. During his 43-year career he held various positions in the Engineering Department. He retired in 1988 as the Senior Assistant Chief Engineer for CSX in Jacksonville, FL.

Mr. Trimble was a Master 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite and a member of the Hart #61 Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Nicholasville United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the UK Blue-White Club.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Trimble; one daughter Judith (Mrs. John) VanSteenberg of Memphis, TN.; one son David C. (Corinne) Trimble of Georgetown, KY; one grandson Christopher (Karen) VanSteenberg of East Greenwich, RI; three granddaughters, Catherine (Mrs. Casey) Shockey of Austin, TX; Ewing Anne (Mrs. Jonathan) Dunn of Lexington; Andrea Shropshire of Georgetown, KY; and two great-grandchildren Olivia Ann and William Alan VanSteenberg of East Greenwich, RI.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 15, at 1:00 p.m. at the Nicholasville United Methodist Church. Visitation will take place from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14,there will be a Masonic Rites service at 7:00 PM Thursday at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home in Nicholasville, as well as from 11:00-1:00 on Friday at Nicholasville UMC.

Memorials may be made to either the Nicholasville United Methodist Church, 303 W. Maple St., 40356, or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington KY 40504.

4 to 8 PM Thursday at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home; 11 AM until time of service at Church

1:00 PM Friday, Nicholasville United Methodist Church
