Avon Bradshaw, Jr., 82, loving husband of Lena Lee Bradshaw for 32 years, left his earthly home on Friday, March 6, at Baptist Health Care. He was born in Fayette County the oldest of 5 children to the late Avon, Sr. and Fannie Spigles Bradshaw. Avon was a member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church where he attended Bob Leeson's Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the US Air Force having obtained the rank of S/Sgt and served in the Korean War. As a youngster he was active in the 4H and FFA and received the Associate Farmers Award in FFA in 1952, as he was always passionate about farming. He was a past Sr. Counselor in U.C.T., Council #89 in Lexington and a retired purchasing agent for Breeders Livestock Health and Supply. He leaves his memories with his loving sister Anna E. Bradshaw, brothers Clifton Ray Bradshaw, wife Phyllis, and Cecil Bradshaw, wife Helen, nieces Robin Martin, husband Shaun, Ann Marie Shelly, husband Randy, great niece Lauren Shelley and great nephew Benjamin Shelley, step-daughters Tishana Cundiff, husband Ken and Alonna Bailey, husband Rob, his 5 grandchildren Kenneth "Trey", Heather, and Jamin Cundiff, Chris Bailey, wife Kelly, Sarah Duckworth, husband Josh, and one adorable great granddaughter Eilee "Little Bit" Duckworth. He was preceded in death by a brother and his wife Billy Lee and Marilyn Bradshaw. A Service of Remembrance will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 10, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Dr. William Henard officiating. He will be laid to rest in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Randy Shelley, Shaun Martin, Trey, Ken, and Jamin Cundiff, Chris and Rob Bailey, and John Sanders. Honorary bearers will be the Bob Leeson's Sunday School Class. His family will greet friends from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home on Monday, March 9. Donations may be made to the Porter Memorial Mission Fund.
