Barbara Jean Chapman Bowman, 76 wife of Claude Bowman for 50 years entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 4, at her home. She was a native of Wilmore, KY, born June 10, 1938, to the late Mosie and Minnie York Chapman. Barbara was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her children; Gail Miller, Ricky Cheek, Donald Cheek, Claude Bowman, Jr., Shane Bowman, and Lynnsie Reynolds, her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Edward Chapman and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by a daughter Debbie Chapman and brothers Willard, Robert, and Chester. Her Service of Remembrance will be held 1:00 PM Friday, May 8, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and she will be laid to rest in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Clifton McKnight, Michael Petty, Robert Luttrell, Justin White, Jamie White, Paul Godbey, and Jimmy Downey. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, May 7, at the funeral home. The family would appreciate donations to the funeral home in order to help with funeral expenses.
