Nicholasville: Bessie Collins, 83, of Ross St. died Wed., April 11, at her home. Services will be 11 AM Friday, April 13, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, burial in Wilmore Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Visitation will be Thurs., April 12, from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Bessie was a native of Jessamine County born March 24, 1924, to the late Alfred and Eva Bell Chapman. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing. She is survived by her children Mary Alice Courtney, Wilmore, Kirby Lane Collins and wife Alma, Wilmore, Ann Mastin, Garrard County, Robert Collins, Nicholasville, James L. ‘Jim’ Collins, and wife Lori, Wilmore, Michael Collins, and wife Melissa, Georgetown, Alvin Ray Collins, Manchester, and Stanley Collins and wife Jamie, Nicholasville, a sister Catherine Davis, 28 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Phil Collins, 2 granddaughters, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Jessamine County Chapter.
