Betty F. Hayden, 84, loving wife of Clyde Wayne Hayden, entered into eternal rest on Feb. 4, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 18, 1940, one of the four children of Howard B. and Mary E. Blankenship Young. Betty attended Edgewood Baptist Church for many years. Betty grew up in Jessamine County, working on her family's farm and attending Little Hickman School in her youth. She later went on to work as a waitress, real estate agent for Wilson Realtors and eventually performed the payroll and tax accounting services for her husband's business Topline Exhaust, all while tirelessly raising a family and keeping an immaculate home and yard. She was very talented and enjoyed cutting and installing crown molding, refinishing and restoring furniture, and doing anything else she set her mind to. She was a perfectionist in everything she did. She loved to play golf and to mow her yard, keeping it pristine as she always had a special way to mow. She leaves her memories with her husband Wayne and sons Brian McFarland, wife Michelle, and Mathew McFarland, as well as the light of her life her grandchildren Tanner, Gillis, Lauren Gillis, and Daniel McFarland. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She will be met at the river to welcome her by sister Barbara Estepp, and brothers Richard and Donald Young. A Service of Remembrance will be held 1:30 PM Monday February 10, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. Following the Service she will be laid to rest in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Ronald Collins, Daniel McFarland, Tanner Gillis, Jerald Abshear, Brent Abshear and Paul Abshear. Honorary Bearers will be Johnny Burge and Bill Wilhoite. Her family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of Service at 1:30 PM on Monday February 10. “Remember me in your heart: your thoughts, memories, and the love we shared, for if you always think of me, I will never have gone.” All arrangements are under the direction of Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and we express our deepest sympathy to Betty’s family.
