Nicholasville: Betty Bowling McDaniel, 85, passed away Thurs. Dec. 2, at Royal Manor Nursing Home. A native of Madison County born July 24, 1925, to the late Leeander and Cynthia M. Bowling. She was the widow of James L. McDaniel, Sr. who died in 1997. Betty was a member of Brookside Baptist Church and the Bell Ringers at the Jessamine County Senior Citizens. She was a collector of glass slippers which had been on display at the Withers Memorial Library. Survivors include a daughter Phyllis Laflin, husband Bonny Dale, Bowling Green, son James L McDaniel II, wife Eva, Nicholasville, 4 grandsons Sean Laflin, Scott Laflin, James ‘Jim’ McDaniel III, and John Jason McDaniel, wife Becky, 6 great grandchildren Brittany Hope, Jacob Zane, and Juliette McDaniel, Ryan, Owen and Eli Laflin, a great great grandson John Ayden Rose, sisters in law Adelaine McDaniel, and Jenny Jones, brother in law Kenneth McDaniel, and her best friend Lena McGill of Georgetown. She was preceded in death by a sister and brother.

Graveside Service to be held at Midway Cemetery 1:00 PM Sat. Dec. 4 with Rev. Dewayne Brewer officiating. Honoring her as pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandson. Donations may be made in her memory to Jessamine Cancer Buddies, c/o Lela Bishop, 610 W Maple, Nicholasville or to Brookside Baptist Church.
