Betty Jean (Carey) Smith

Betty Jean Smith, 91, of Danville, entered her heavenly home on Sunday, August 28, 2022.  She was born in Perryville, Kentucky on August 25, 1931 to the late Page Albert and Minnie Shakelford Carey.  Betty was a hard worker who retired from Walmart and later from the Farmers National Bank in Danville.  She attended the Perryville United Methodist Church and loved spending time with her family.  Betty enjoyed looking her best when she was out in public.  She loved nice clothes and enjoyed make-up and hairstyling for a very polished look. She leaves wonderful memories with her daughter Linda Smith, grandchildren David Lee Smith III, Chloe Page Wilcher, and Delaney Smith Best, and great granddaughter Saylor Ray Wilcher.  She leaves precious childhood memories with her brothers Page Albert Carey, Jr. and William Jesse Carey.  In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband David Lee Smith, son David Lee Smith II, and brother Ralph Carey.  A private family service will be held at a later date.  “You never forget the sound of your mother’s voice, the lessons she taught, what she stood for . . . .
