Betty Jean Stephens, 91, widow of Ulysses Alvin Stephens since 1996, joined him in eternal rest on Thursday April 15, 2021.  She was a native of Jessamine County born August 31, 1929, to the late Clayton Clyde and Mabel Duncan Hahn Poor.  Betty was a member of Brookside Baptist Church and a retired employee of Kommand Bearing where she was their Office Manager.  After retiring she enjoyed staying at home to be near her family. She will be fondly remembered by her son Frank Stephens, wife Kathleen, daughter Jeannie Burgess, husband Robert, grandchildren Clayton C Stephens, wife Patty, Megan Burgess, great grandchildren Clayton and Colton Stephens. Additional survivors include a brother Curtis Poor, wife Gail, sister-law- Shirley Poor as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Betty was preceded in death by brothers Bob, PeeWee, and Bill Poor and his wife June.  Her family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home following with a Graveside Remembrance at 2:30 PM in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.  Honoring her as pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Poor, David Poor, Steven Poor, Rick Poor, and Cale Stephens. Honorary bearer will be Curt Poor.  “You’ll never forget you mother’s face, the sound of her voice, her gentle touch, and you’ll always know that you honor her every day in how you live and who you are”.  Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home values nothing more that the loyalty and trust given to us by Betty’s family.
