Betty Jo "B.J." Tate Profile Photo

Betty Jo “BJ” Tate, 50, mother of Jacob Murphy, left her earthly home unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Ben William and Sally Elizabeth Kelly Tate.   She was self employed as a housekeeper, and was a certified CNA having worked at Cardinal Hill and UK Hospital.   BJ was a graduate of Jessamine County High School.  In addition to her son Jacob and his father John Murphy and Jacob's grandmother Judy Murphy, she is survived by her companion and friend Jim Register, brothers Ken Tate and Mike Tate, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.  Her family will greet friends on Friday, Jan 29, beginning at 3:00 PM until time of the Remembrance Service at 5:00 PM.  Inurnment will be at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, Feb. 2, in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.  The family suggests donations to help with BJ's funeral expenses.  You can donate by clicking the "Donations" tab on her obituary page at www.hagerandcundifffunerals.com. “If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll be there forever”.  Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home values nothing more than the trust and loyalty given to us by the Tate family to care for BJ.

In accordance to guidelines by the CDC, masks are required as well as social distancing.  The Remembrance Service will be lived streamed for those unable to attend.
