Billie Jean Teater, 84, daughter of the late Bradie and Elizabeth Brooks Teater left her earthly home on Monday, July 27 at the Signature Blue Grass Care & Rehabilitation. Billie was the granddaughter of the late Cyrus and Laura Belle House Teater and Floyd and Nannie Dean Brooks who were all from Jessamine County. She received her early education from the Jessamine County School system and continued her education at the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University. Her interests were varied but often centered around music and art. She loved drawing cartoons and was a self taught pianist who enjoyed classical music. Her favorite television programs were Jeopardy and Lawerence Welk. She leaves to cherish memories a brother Rollie Teater, sisters Roberta Stinnett, Nina Young husband Donald, nieces Rhonda Ellison husband Ronnie, Dora Collins husband Ronnie, Sara Nelson husband Dustin, and Rebecca Young nephew Gary Teater wife Bonnie and Monte Young, and great nephew Bradie Keith Ellison. Billie was blessed with many other relatives and friends that will remember her life. A Service of Remembrance will be held on 1:00 PM Thursday, July 30, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Wade Arp officiating and she will be laid to rest beside her parents in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends and family will honor her as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, July 29, at the funeral home.
