Billy Ray Hager

Billy Ray Hager, 63, entered into eternal rest at St. Joseph Hospice Care on Sunday, Nov. 29, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a native of Jessamine County born June 13, 1952, to the late Herman, Jr. and Elizabeth Masters Hager. Billy was a member of Bethel Christian Church. He was a dedicated farmer, loved to dove hunt and go fishing but his passion was his children and grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife and constant companion for 39 years Virginia Caudill Hager, children Frankie J. Hampton, husband Jeff, Jackie Lee Caudill, wife Kimberly, Billie Sue Mulcahy, husband Danny, and William "Dooder" Hager, wife Vicky, 9 grandchildren, a brother Terry Wayne Hager, wife Dana, sister Brenda Lee Hager as well as many other family members. He was preceded in death by a grandson Jacob Mulcahy. His Service of Remembrance will be 1:00 PM Thursday at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Bales and Mickey Stinnett officiating. He will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Roger Shultz, Justin Wise, Michael Brock, Paul Robertson, Terry Wayne Hager and Jerry Barker. Honorary bearers will be Kenny Ritchey, C V Ethington, Leonard Armstrong, Johnny Gardner, Ricky Boyd, David Buckley, Larry Montgomery, Donald Wilson, Larry Welch, and Jimmy Maxey. His family will receive friends from 5 to 9 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Bethel Christian Church in Billy's memory.
