Our beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend Bobbye Sue Bourne Ball, 47, left her earthly home at Baptist Health Care after a long and courageous battle with Scleroderma. She was the devoted and loving mother of Ryan Christopher Ball and her bonus kids Brennon Ball and Hunter Justice, whom she adored. She and her brother Taylor Bourne had a special bond throughout their childhood which extended to his wife Michelle and their children Kyle, Sadie, and BB. Bobbye was born in Louisville to Robert L. and Sue Ann Davidson Bourne on March 18, 1972, but was a life long resident of Jessamine County. She graduated from Jessamine County High School and later became the Middle School Youth Service Center Director for the Jessamine County School Board until health issues prevented her ability to continue in this position. Bobbye was all about family and friends and had a passion for music-especially concerts- as well as drawing and reading. She will always be remembered smiling joyously with her 7 chosen sisters who loved and cared for each other during good times and bad ones; Julie Shute, Andrea Beasley, Christy V. Heath, Amy Boone. Lisa Dare, Ali Thompson and Kelli-Lynn Canup. Bobbye will be fondly remembered by her maternal aunts and uncles; Taylor Davidson, wife Connie, Jane Greeman, Rowland Davidson, wife Nancy, and Paul Davidson, wife Deb, her paternal aunts and uncles; Billie Ann Roberts, LaVerne Bourne, Imogene VanHook, J.C. Bourne, wife Martha and Sue Pigg, husband Dennis, as well as a host of cousins and extended family members. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents General Taylor L. and Bobby Davidson and paternal grandparents John C. and Nell E. Bourne. A Remembrance Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 26, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.
Honoring her as bearers will be John Beasley, Gavin Hensley, Kyle Harvey, Brennon Ball, Heath Allen, and John Hayden Beasley. Honorary bearers will be her 7 chosen sisters. The family will greet friends beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00PM on Tuesday, June 25, at the funeral home. Her family would like to extend a special and heartfelt Thanks to the nurses and doctors at Baptist Health 2A ICU for the compassionate care that was given to Bobbye and them during her stay. “Love is the greatest gift in life. Where there is deep grief there was great love”. It is a privilege for Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home to care for Bobbye Sue and her family.
