Nicholasville: Burch Peel, 87, of Edgewood Dr. East, died Thurs., April 19, at Royal Manor Nursing Home. A native of Jessamine County he was born July 31, 1919, to the late Preston and Blanche Canter Peel. Burch was a retired farmer and graded cattle for Bluegrass Stockyard for 42 years, Clay Wach Stockyards, and the Garrard County Stockyards for 26 years. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Anna Louise Lowry Peel, 2 daughters Carolyn Estes and Anita Sue Huffman and husband Charles both of Nicholasville, 2 sisters Doris Ann Hurst, Nicholasville and Rose Evelyn Hacker, FL., 5 grandchildren Greg Estes, Lancaster, Shante` Birchum and husband Rick, April Williams and husband Roger, Holly Pryse and husband Billy, and Stephanie Harris, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and 3 sisters.
Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, April 23, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Harrod officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Huffman, Bobby Estes, Greg Estes, Rick Birchum, Roger Williams, and Billy Pryse. Honorary bearers will be Bill Duncan, A. G. Canter, Sterling Canter, Lilburn Fain, George William Brumfield, Garnett Fain, and Ed Christian.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Cheryl, Kay and others at Royal Manor Nursing Home for their ‘from the heart’ care. We are forever grateful.
