Calvin Hager, 88, husband of Betty R. Belcher Hager for 70 years entered into eternal rest on Friday Feb. 21, 2014 at the Mercy Health Clermont in Batavia, Ohio. He was a devoted member of the Covington Lodge # 109, the Scottish Rite, and the Syrian Shrine of Cincinnati, Ohio in which rode with the mounted horse unit.Calvin was a retired employee of Cincinnati Gas & Electric and a US Army veteran. He was an avid outdoor person and loved animals. In addition to his loving wife he leaves his memories with daughters Ann Wilmhoff, husband Kenneth and Lois White, husband James R., grandchildren Elisha and Eric Wilson, Amy Wright, Krisstina Monnig, Dave Wilmhoff, Karen Rush and Jenny Siebert, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, sister Lucille Dowd, and brother Russell Hager, wife Rosalee as well as many extended relatives. A Remembrance Service will be held 1:00 PM Sat. March 1, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Honoring Calvin as pallbearers will be Kenneth Wilmhoff, James White, David Wilmhoff, Eric Wilson, Roger Belcher, and David Wright. Honorary bearers are Terry and Harold Belcher. His family will receive friends on Friday Feb. 28, from 5 to 7 PM with a Masonic Service scheduled for 6:00 PM on Friday and from 11 AM until time of Service on Saturday. Flowers are welcome but the family suggest donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Av. Cincinnati, Ohio 45229.
