Carla Joyce Tufts

August, 16, 1955 - January, 29, 2013

Carla Joyce Tufts, 57 died peacefully January 29th 2013 at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington KY after losing her battle with cancer.

Carla was born August 16, 1955 in Columbus Ohio to Carl and Reva Tufts. She spent her childhood in eastern Kentucky before moving to the south. Carla graduated from Tara High School in Baton Rouge Louisiana in 1973. It was there in 1977 when she started her family and was blessed with her four sons before returning to Kentucky in 1985. Carla then committed her life to the raising of her four boys to become their own persons pursuing their own paths. After finishing that goal in 2003 Carla then began pursuing her college degree at Bluegrass Community College in social work and psychology and was scheduled to graduate in May of 2013.Her hope was to follow her passion which was to help victims of abuse and to help families coping with substance abuse.

It is hard to describe and list all the good and love Carla had given in her short life. The persons who knew her can fill volumes with the ways their lives were affected by her truly one of a kind soul and contagious laugh.

She is survived by her four sons for whom she dedicated her adult life.

Asher Hall( Kristen Kuveikis Hall) of Nicholasville, KY, Jacob Hall (Corinne Freiman) of Flagstaff, AZ, Silas Hall (Loretta Grant Hall) of Gulfport, MS, and Kalen"Kato" Hall of Nicholasville, KY.

She is also survived by her grandchildren whom she adored and lived for

Logan Grant, Tyler Cadieux, Breanna Hall, Marissa Cadieux, Aiden Hall and Elijah Hall.

She is also survived by her loving sisters

Pamela Hubbard (Donnie Hubbard) and Angela Tufts and nieces and nephews Lucas and Marcus Hubbard, Molly McCall and Tristen Jones.

A Remembrance Ceremony will be held Friday, Feb. 1, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Jon Weece officiating. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery located in Nicholasville where she spent the majority of her adult life.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, Jan. 31.A special thanks to all the staff at the Markey Cancer Center, Bluegrass Hospice, Southland Christian Church, CMC construction, Kentucky State Police and all the friends and family who assisted her on her journey over the last weeks and months.
