Carolyn Sue (Grant) Barnett

Carolyn Sue Barnett, 74, mother of Cheryl Whitaker and Vaughn Barnett, wife Stacy, left her earthly home Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018.  She was a native of Lexington, KY born March 19, 1943, to the late Clarence and Margaret Lowry Grant.  She was a retired employee of Fansteel VR/Wesson.  She was a wonderful homemaker who loved to read, showed true gardening skills including both flowers and vegetables, and was an avid UK basketball fan.  In addition to her children she leaves to cherish her memories grandchildren Nathan Masters, Daniel Biddle, Laura Schmidt, Dalton Biddle, Emilee Crews, Katelyn Tudor, Dawson and Kelsey Barnett, 7 great grandchildren, a brother Douglas Grant and sister Teresa Quinn, husband William, as well several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by  Jimmy Barnett, the father of her children.  A Service of Remembrance will be 1:00 PM Monday, Feb. 5, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and following, she will be laid to rest in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.  Her family will greet friends on Sunday, Feb. 4, starting at 2:00 and ending at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.  “Your Mother is always with you, she’s the whisper of the leaves, the smell of certain foods, and the flowers you pick. She lives inside your laughter, she’s the place you came from, the map you follow, your best friend and even your first enemy, but nothing can separate you- not time, space or even death”.  Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to serve Carolyn’s  family.
