Carolyn M. “MeeMaw” Estes, 79, loving mother of  Bobbye Shanté Birchum and Gregory Allan Estes, left her earthly home on Sat. Oct. 26.  A native of Jessamine County she was born May 4, 1940, to Burch and Anna Louise Lowry Peel. She attended Nicholasville Baptist Church and was a retired employee of IBM and the Jessamine County Sheriffs Department, where she worked in Court Security. She also was a  CNA for Home Health for 14 years.  Carolyn was known for her big heart, her kind and caring ways with people, and the friendly smile she gave everyone she met. Family was very important and she enjoyed all the get-togethers with them.   In addition to her children she will be fondly remembered by her son-in-law Rick Birchum, sister Anita Sue Huffman, husband Buck, her grandchildren who held a special place in her life and loved their “MeeMaw” Tara Estes, Anthony Estes, Kyle Estes, Jacob Estes, Jessica Dutton and Rickey Birchum, great grandchildren Adrian Medina, Logan Torres, and Kennedy Dutton. friends Kathie Murphy, Brenda Kestel and Barbara Craycraft. nieces April Williams, Stephanie Garrison and Holly Pryse. She was preceded in death by her special friend and companion Bill Duncan  A Remembrance Service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, Oct 31, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.  She will be laid to rest following the service in Maple Grove Cemetery.   Honoring her as pallbearers will be Kyle and Jacob Estes, Rickey Birchum, Mike Kestel, Doodle Peel and Danny Tankersley. Honorary bearers will be Tom Catlett, Kevin Corman, Ralph Cunningham, and Jerry Blakeman.  The family will greet friends beginning at 4 and ending at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 30, and from 11 AM until time of Service on Thursday.  “ Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure , you are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.”    Contributions may be made in her memory to Bluegrass Care Navigators.   Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home values nothing more than the trust given to us by Carolyn’s family.
