Carroll Sparks Carter, Jr

Carroll Sparks Carter, Jr., 82, of Fourth St. died Friday, Nov. 28, at his home. A native of Paris, Ky. he was born July 12, 1926, to the late Carroll Sparks, Sr. and Gladys Haynes Carter. He was the widower of Lela Davis Carter who died in 1997, a retired electrical engineer, and a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII. He loved researching the genealogy of his family, was an excellent marksman and had been a member of several Gun Clubs in earlier years. He is survived by 2 sons William Carter, Colorado and Mark Carter, Florida, a grandson Christopher Charles Carter, Colorado, a sister in law Carolyn Davis, Lexington, and nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:00 AM Mon., Dec. 29, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. There will be a gathering of family and friends at 10:00 AM on Mon. the 29th . Inurnment will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. The family request donations be made in his memory to the Mt. Dora Christian Home and Bible School, PO Box 1017, Mt. Dora, Florida 32757.
