Nicholasville: Charles ‘Sonny’ Burton, Jr., 65 of Woodview Dr. died Sun. Sept. 9, at Central Baptist Hospital. A native of Fayette Co. he was born April 7, 1942. He attended Lexington Baptist Temble and was the owner of Burton’s Transmission. Sonny loved being a mechanic and drag racing. Survivors include his wife of 30 years Doris Ann Hill Burton, his parents Charles, Sr. and Mildred Powell Burton, children Charles Anthony Burton and wife Sandee, Washington, Tisha Marie Snyder, Nicholasville, 2 brothers Jackie Wayne Burton and wife Marilyn, and James L. ‘Jim’ Burton, a sister Linda C. Burton all of Lexington, 5 grandchildren Kayla Marie Snyder, Justin Taylor Snyder, Austin Snyder, Kayse Snyder, and Andrew ‘Andy’ Snyder, and 2 step grandchildren Charles ‘Chuck‘ Applebee and Kim Applebee.

Services will be 1:00 PM Wed., Sept. 12, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Henry officiating, burial in Wilmore Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Tues., Sept. 11, at the funeral home.
