Charles Ray Pierce, 75, widower of Beverly since 2011, left his earthly home on Monday, July 10, 2017. He was a longtime resident of Jessamine County and retired employee of Asbury University. Charlie was born Oct. 2, 1941, to Bonnie Wilson and the late Ray Pierce. He was a native of Burnside, Kentucky where he grew up working with his uncle at Burnside Marina and developing the love of dock life, fishing and Lake Cumberland.
In later years he developed the love of fishing in the Kentucky River. He was a member of New Hope Fellowship Church. He leaves his memories with children Tim Hisle, Jeannie Richardson, husband John, Charlene Pierce, Anthony Pierce, James Pierce and Joshua Pierce, 13 grandchildren; Ashley Hisle, Erica Hisle, Nicole Drury, Amanda Hisle, Luke Hisle James Dale Russell, wife Amanda, Ben Russell, Shawna, Molly , Christian, and Haley Pierce, and Ashley and Brandi Richardson, as well as 8 great grandchildren and several half brothers and sisters. A Remembrance Service will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 13, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Maple Grove Cemetery. His sons Tim, Anthony, James, Joshua, grandson James Dale, and son-in-law Johnny, will honor him as pallbearers. The family will greet friends starting at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 12, at the funeral home. “We grieve because we love and we love because they lived, it is that life brings us joy”.
