April 29, 1926 - March 15, 2016
Charlotte Grant Graybill Hall, 89, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 surrounded by her family. Born on April 29, 1926 in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Boyd Graybill and Charles Grant Graybill. Her husband, Earl Edwin Hall, precedes her in death. She was the much-loved mom of Sue Hall Hill (Gerry); Sonny Hall (Tina); Patrice Hall Thompson (C.B.); Kathy Hall Blankenship (Chuck); and preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Hall Clem (Les), and a son, Billy Hall (Cindy). She was the loved older sister of her brother, James Lewis Graybill that passed away on March 8, 2016, and a sister, Lucile Graybill, that passed away at the age of five years old. In addition to her children, she loved and was proud of her fourteen grandchildren, their families, and great-grandchildren. Three grandchildren, Les Clem, Jr., Alicia Hall, and Jennifer Hall preceded her in death. Charlotte grew up in Minerva, Kentucky before moving to Shelbyville with her parents and brother, J.L., following the death of her little sister, Lucile. After losing her mother at sixteen years old, she was especially close to her grandmother, Lucile Pearce Boyd, and her mother-in-law, Lucy Poe Hall, along with her Uncle Pearce and Aunt Nell Boyd, and always the big "Sis" to her brother, J.L. Earl and Charlotte were high school sweethearts at Gleneyrie High School in Shelby County and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 15, 2013. Earl and Charlotte moved to Nicholasville in 1959, where together they raised six children and were an active part of the community. She was a strong woman that gave everything for her family.
