Clarence Kenneth Patterson, 88, widower of Betty Clay Patterson with whom he shared 43 years of marriage entered his heavenly home on Monday, Dec. 15. He was a native of Hardin County son of the late Hansford J. and Anna Belle Coyle Patterson and a US Army veteran. Kenneth enjoyed woodworking, was an excellent carpenter and was devoted to his family. He was always a happy man with a big smile. He leaves to cherish his memories daughters Karen Patterson, husband Richard Peterson, Kenelle Sweet, partner Tammy Sweet, step daughter Donna Turner, husband Roger, grandchildren Jason Flesher, Amanda Releford, Neal Patterson, Melayna and Devin Sweet, 11 great grandchildren, brothers Carl and Roger Patterson, sisters Jessie Nichols, Marjorie Powers and Carolyn Wills, and brother-in-law Earl Johns, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Osborne, brothers Eugene and Robert Warren Patterson and a niece Beth Thomas. A Service of Remembrance will be held on 11:00 AM Thursday Dec. 18 at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Baldridge officiating and he will be laid to rest beside his loving wife with full Military Honors in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Mike Wade, Neal Patterson, Devin Sweet, John Osborne, Roger Turner, Bill Spalding, Joe Spalding, Jim Osborne, and Bob Patterson. Honorary bearers will be Bill Harper, Richard Peterson, Pouchie Burton, Gene Black, Carl and Roger Patterson. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday. Flowers are welcome but the family suggest donations in his memory be made to The Alzheimer's Association. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to serve the family that Kenneth adored.
