Clarine ‘Hockey’ G. Mastin Hockensmith, 80, Pine Meadows Nursing Home, formerly of Beaver Place Rd., Lexington died Monday, March 23. She was a native of Versailles, Ky. born June 6, 1928, to the late Bartner and Parl Mae Johns Mastin. She was the widow of Clifton Hockensmith who died in 1970. She was affectionately known as ‘Hockey’ by her friends and co workers at St. Joseph Hospital where she worked as a nurse assistant for 22 years. She was member of Southland Christian Church. Survivors include 2 daughters Susan Megillgan, Danville and Deborah Hockensmith, Lexington, 2 sisters Toni Spaulding and Pearl Parido, husband Ray both of Lexington, a brother Jack Mastin, wife Margaret, Cincinnati, 4 grandchildren Sharon M. Mathews, Louisville, Paul Megillgan, Michaela Megillgan, and Eudora Sheppard, all of Danville, a great grandson Tristan Mathews, Louisville, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held 4:30 PM on Sunday, April 5, at Southland Christian Church The family request donations be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the American Cancer Society.
