Nicholasville: Clevert Gayhart, 80, affectionately known as ‘Bug’ to his friends and ‘Daddy Bug’ by his daughters and grandchildren, passed away Sun., Oct. 29, after a long battle with leukemia. A native of Jessamine County, he was born Aug. 23, 1926 to the late Willie and Hannah Peel Gayhart of Little Hickman, KY. He is survived by his wife Nancy Brooks Gayhart, with whom he had just celebrated sixty years of marriage on Oct. 12, 2006. He was a farmer and one time owner of Gayhart Grocery Store, as well as an avid fisherman and gardener. His greatest joy was sharing his wonderful garden produce with his friends and family. He was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church for many years where he also served as a Lay Leader, Sunday School Superintendent, and belonged to Methodist Men. He is survived by two daughters, Wanda Gayhart Cassell, and husband Ron, of MI, and Dorthea Gayhart Stephens, and husband Curt, of Nicholasville, five grandchildren, Stuart Lance Hager, Hannah Stephens, Ryan Corman, Kyle Clevert Corman, and Ashley Corman, and two sisters, Rachael Canter and Dorothy Teater, both of Nicholasville, KY.

Services will be 2:00 PM Wed., Nov. 1, at HAGER & CUNDIFF FUNERAL HOME, W.Oak St. with Rev. Brian Rhea officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. His grandchildren and Billy Rollins Teater will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Sims, John Parks, Methodist Men, and men of Wesley Chapel. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM on Tues., Oct. 31, at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Wesley Chapel.
