Corine Blakeman Herren

Nicholasville: (Emma) Corine Blakeman (Peel) Herren, 91, widow of Rev. Ullie J. Herren (since 2004), entered into the eternal rest of her Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 18, from St. Joseph Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Jessamine County born March 6, 1922, to the late James Mack and Emma Riddle Blakeman. Corine was a member of the Cynthiana Church of the Nazarene and the Wilmore Woman's Club. She recently attended Sulphur Well Christian Church. For many years until their retirement she and her husband were owners of Herren Floor Covering. She leaves to cherish her memory a brother James Herman Blakeman and his wife Ruby Moore Blakeman, step-granddaughter Anne Elizabeth Hodge, her husband Timothy, two step grandsons Tanner Timothy and Andrew Berry Hodge as well as numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Grace Lee (Wade) Renaker, Katherine Mae Blakeman, Mattie Logan Walters, Alice Marie Brooks, and brother John Robert Blakeman. She was next to the youngest of seven siblings and beloved by all who knew her. Her Service of Remembrance will be Saturday, February 22 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Philip D. Brooks, Rev. Gloria Brooks and Bro. Tyson Cummings officiating at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Ullie in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Don Rex Wade, Wm. Perry Walters IV, Philip Roland Brooks, Stephen Mack Blakeman, David Michael Blakeman, and Timothy Hodge.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm on Friday, 2/21, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
