Nicholasville: Cynthia Blanton, 65, of Foxwood Dr. died Sat. June 2, at St. Joseph Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Montgomery County born Aug. 29, 1946, to the late James and Katherine Watkins Martin. She was a former school bus driver for the Jessamine County Board of Education for over 13 years. She loved her job, her dogs, and family more than life it’s self.

Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years Mac Blanton, children Penny Ingels, husband Bill, Tim Scalf, wife Phyllis, Marie Brewer, husband Gray, Glenden Blanton, wife Ada, and Roy Blanton, wife Carrie, a brother Donald Martin, 13 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Stoney Martin.

A Remembrance Ceremony will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 5, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Jared Henry and Rev. Willie Laswell officiating. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Glen Blanton, Jr., Gulian Blanton, Marcus Brewer, Jr., Gray Brewer, Charlie Barron, Jr., and Jimmy Pridemore. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Mon.
