David Laurence Brown, 68, loving husband of Patsy Durham Brown for 45 years, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family while a patient at University of Kentucky Hospital after an extended illness. David was the son Charles Porter and Jennie Gillock Brown, born July 17,1953, in Cynthia, KY. He was a former employee of Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, having served as an EMT and later devoted 90 percent of his life to being a part of various Fire Departments and EMT Departments in Irvine, KY, Laurel County, Jessamine County, and many other area fire and emergency centers. He was always interested in trains and loved to listen to Gospel Music. In addition to his wife he will be fondly remembered by his daughter Lauren Ashley Lake, husband Scott, sister-in-law Tammy Durham, brothers-in-law Paul Durham, wife Sherrie, Tim Durham, and Dale Durham, wife Natalie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Richard Brown. A Remembrance Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, Oct. 29, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Davidson officiating. Following the service David will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Thursday, Oct. 28, beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM. His family suggest donations be made to the Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. “If there ever comes a time we can’t be together, then keep me in your heart. I’ll be there forever." Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust and loyalty given to us by the Brown family to care for David’s arrangements.
