David Howard Damron (formerly of Jenkins, KY), of Wilmore, KY, age 73, the beloved Husband of Dena Allen Damron, went to be with our Lord on October 26, 2020.  He made the decision that he was tired and it was time for him to go HOME! We as his family, were given the Gift of a small amount of time to communicate our love for him, our support of his decision, and that we would see him when it was our time to arrive there.

Dave and Dena were happily married for 32 years and theirs was a typical “Brady Bunch Family”-blended, but loving. He cherished the times he was able to be with their kids, but “Papaw” especially relished the times spent with their 14 grandchildren.

David spent the final 2 years of his life at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center where his favorite past-times included attending Church led by Chaplain Bob Barnard, Bible Study, reading his gun magazines, watching television, AND winning Little Debbie Cakes at Bingo!

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Evelyn Damron, his sister Dorothy Carol Hall, and precious niece Lori Thompson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Dena Allen Damron, his children, Chris Damron, Tracy Webb-Cope, William Buck Damron, Chad Webb and Kelly Mooney. Their grandloves: Aaron, Steven, Bradon, D.J., Matthew, Josh, Zack, Dalton, Cody, Luke, Emily, Mackenzie, Hannah, and Jacob. He is also survived by his brother Roy Damron, sisters Madonna Damron Rose and Linda Damron Adams, and by his nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Uncle Dave.

A Private Family visitation will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2420 Lexington Road, Nicholasville, KY on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. and regular visitation from 5:00-9:00 p.m. A military funeral service honoring the life of Dena’s Hero/Husband, and his service to his Country will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. at the church with burial to follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Nicholasville, KY. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in memory of Dave.

Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust given to us by Dave’s family to care for him.  This obituary was lovingly submitted by the Damron Family.
