David C. Garrett

Nicholasville: David C. Garrett, 66, husband of Becky H. Garrett, died Sunday April 24, at Central Baptist Hospital. A native of Jessamine County he was born Jan. 17, 1945, to the late Willie and Bessie Webb Garrett. David was a retired employee of Hobart, Inc. and presently employed by Jessamine County Court Security. He was a member of Little Hickman Christian Church where he served as Deacon and a long time member of the Jessamine County Saddle Club in which he had held several offices. In addition to his wife Becky of 44 years he is survived by 4 brothers Leo Garrett, Jerry Garrett wife Bobbye, Tommy Garrett wife Joyce, and Larry Garrett wife Donna, 2 sisters Reva Raider husband Joe and Sharon Pierce husband Bill, a special cousin Debby Lovitt and many nieces and nephews. In 1989 his son Jody Garrett preceded him in death and a brother Ronnie Garrett in 1997.

Services will be held 1:00 PM Wed. April 27, at Nicholasville Christian Church with Rev. Lee Baltzer officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his son at Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Mike, Jay, Mitch, and Darren Garrett, Brian Jackson, and David Wiley. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy Bowman, Jerry Lovitt, Dwight Willis, Deacon and Elders of Little Hickman Christian Church, and the Jessamine County Court Security employees. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Tuesday, April 26, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and Wed. from 11 AM until time of service at the church. Donations may be made in his memory to Little Hickman Christian Church, c/o Christy Young, 117 Woodview, Nicholasville, or to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
