David Harold Roop

David Harold Roop, 65, beloved husband of Laurie Sullivan Roop for 44 years, left his earthly home on Friday, October 6, 2023.  David was born in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Harold Lloyd and Phyllis Adkins Roop.  He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and had retired from Lexmark as a Facility Manager.  David enjoyed and excelled at several sports, including golf, which he played at Highpoint, league softball, bowling, and bocce.  He also had been known to sing karaoke at J.D. Legends, and he attended Southland Christian Church.  Besides his loving wife, David leaves wonderful memories with his son Jarod Roop, wife Heather, daughter Kelby Roop, grandchildren Beckett and Davien Roop, Elyssa Trejo, Evangelina Buezo-Roop, and Jay’saaron, Makay’linn, and Ever’leigh Edwards.  He will also be deeply missed by his brother Steve Roop, brother-in-law Kevin Henry, several nieces and nephews and other extended family members, and many friends.  David was preceded in death by his daughter Camden Roop and his sister Jeanne Henry.  A Remembrance Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday at Edgewood Baptist Church in conjunction with his daughter Camden’s Memorial Service.  The family will greet friends at the church before the service beginning at 4:00 PM.  “If there ever comes a day where we can’t be together, keep me in your heart.  I’ll stay there forever.”  Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust given to us to care for David and his family.
