Lexington: Dawn Marie Kaufman Hammons, 57, of Sequoia Dr., died Fri. Aug. 8, at Central Baptist Hospital. She was a native of Seymour, Indiana born Oct. 29, 1950. Dawn was a graduate of Seymour High School, the Immanuel Lutheran School and a retired employee of Verizon where she was a supervisor of operator services. She loved to work with the Kentucky Special Olympics. She is survived by her husband of 19 years Ed Hammons, a son Corbitt Edward Hammons, her mother Edna Marie Kaufman, 2 brothers Jeffrey Kaufman and wife Linda and Kim Kaufman and wife Gina all of Seymour and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:00 AM on Wed. Aug. 13, at the Voss & Son Funeral Home in Seymour, with burial in Riverview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kim Kaufman, Rocky Kaufman, Chris Kaufman, Josh Kaufman, Jeff Kaufman, Jr., Jeff Kaufman Sr., and Will Hammons. Visitation will be Mon., Aug. 11, from 4 to 8 PM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, Nicholasville and Tues. Aug. 12, from 4 to 8 PM at Voss & Son Funeral Home in Seymour. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Kentucky Special Olympics.
