Nicholasville: Diane Bishop Brooks, 76, died at her home on Friday, May 8, after an extended illness. Diane was the widower of Paul Brooks who died in 2009, a member of Nicholasville Church of Christ, and a native of Garrard County born Sept. 14, 1935, to the late John Bishop and Ann Williams Meister. She was an employee of Shillitos ( Macy’s) for over 25 years in the drapery department. Survivors include her children Debbie Bain, husband Ernie, Jan Waits, husband Don, David Brooks, wife Tammy, and Cathy Brooks, grandchildren Tiffany Bain Shewmaker, husband John, Allie Bain Conn, husband Jamie, Lesley Waits Boysel, husband Chris, Josh Brooks, wife Stephanie, Dara Brooks Ethington, husband Matt, great grandchildren Westyn and Davyn Shewmaker, Colton and Jaxx Conn, Logan and Layne Ethington, and Makailee Brooks, a sister Mae Paddilla, brother Raymond Bishop, wife Joann and a special companion her Yorkie, Annie. She was preceded in death by a daughter Theresa Jean Brooks and a brother.

A Remembrance Ceremony will be held by Brother Jordan Guy, 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 8, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest beside her daughter and husband in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Ricky Boyd, Dwight Willis, John Shewmaker, Jamie Conn, Chris Boysel, and Matt Ethington. Honorary bearers will be Kevin Corman, Ricky Poor, Josh Brooks, Ben Doyle and Rofino Perez. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Monday, May 7, at the funeral home.
