Dolores K. (Foley) Waits

Dolores Royse Waits, 91, daughter of the late William and Renlyn Foley and widow of Kenneth Ray Waits and Gene Royse, passed away June 28, 2019.  She is survived by children Harvey Crow and Linda Ragland, Connie and Kevin McDonald, Robert and Melissa Waits, and Marlon Waits.  She is also survived by her grandchildren who affectionately knew her as DoeDoe: Christie and Ryan Martin, David and Jessica Stone, Daniel and Dawn Aken, Annie and Nicolas Scott, and Chris and Dominique Waits.  She will also be missed by great-grandchildren Cam and Whitley Martin, Emma Aken and Mackenzie Waits, as well as many other relatives, friends and neighbors.  She was a life-long member of Nicholasville Christian Church, and in her younger years worked as a telephone operator.  During her life she enjoyed golf, dancing, making crafts, sewing, quilting, playing poker, bridge, bingo, and Texas Hold-em.  She will be remembered for her independent tenacious spirit and being a friend to many.  A Remembrance Service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 9, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.  She will be laid to rest beside her first husband Gene Royse in Maple Grove Cemetery.  Honoring her as pallbearers will be Daniel Aken, Nicolas Scott, Ryan Martin, Kevin McDonald, Chris Waits, and Greg Curry.  Honorary bearers will be Dottie Bruner, Wayne Montgomery, Howard Downing, Ralph Johnson and Johnny Burge. The family will greet friends beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM  on Monday, July 8at the funeral home.  It is a privilege for Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home to care for Dolores and her family.
