Donald G. Goodlett, 78, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 2, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital. Donald was a life long resident of Jessamine County and the widow of Betty Clare Goodlett who died in 2012. He was a native of Mercer County born Sept. 22, 1935, to the late Charlie and Cora Goodlett. He was retired from IBM where he was an expeditor, was a member of Kirkwood Baptist Church in Mercer County loved gardening, farming and traveling. He leaves his memories with his son Todd and wife Terry and the apples of his eye his grandsons Michael Todd and Stephen. Other survivors are sisters Barbara Jean Blackburn, husband Carl, Linda Mitchell, Brenda Drury, husband Bob, Gaye Goodlett, brothers Leon Goodlett, wife Imogene, John Alvin Goodlett, wife Nancy, Joe Martin Goodlett, wife Shirley, Tommy Lee Goodlett wife Pat, Jerry Wayne Goodlett, wife Charlene, Cleo Goodlett, wife Patty, and Michael Goodlett, wife Karen, sisters in law Carol and Betty Goodlett, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Charles, David, and James Goodlett. A Service of Remembrance will be 1:30 PM Tuesday, May 6, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest with full Military Honors at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Michael Todd Goodlett, Hunter Dean, Donnie Goodlett, Stephen Dwight Goodlett, Fray Duncan, and Jay Garrett. Honorary bearers will be Kevin Corman, John Robert and Linda Lowery, Clay Corman, Tommy Garrett, Jerel Dennis, Eddie Kegley, and Scott Pierce MD. His family will receive friends on Monday, May 5, from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome but donations may be made in his memory to the Leukemia Foundation.
