Rev. Donald Jay Milano

Our Christian community is in mourning due to the death of Rev. Donald Jay Milano, 82. Rev. Milano was a native of St. Charles, Michigan and was born January 16, 1935 to the late Mack and Irene Milano. He was a proud but humble Methodist minister for 20 years serving churches in Michigan after receiving his Master of Divinity from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He joined the US Naval Reserve his senior year of High School and served for 12 years and later became a high school band teacher for 17 years, also in the Michigan area. After his retirement from the ministry, he and his devoted wife Regina, whom he met in Wilmore, returned to Nicholasville to be with grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife of 41 years, he leaves to cherish his memory children Tim Milano, wife Kelly, Maria Milano, Tamara Egan, husband Ted and Tarianne Weaver, husband Ron; Carol Rowell mother of Tamara and Tarianne; grandchildren Andrew Weaver, Seth, Mikayla, Katelyn, Micah, and Jacob Milano, Elijah and Eliana Gowin; brother Gerald Milano, wife Laura and sister Janet Ihle. Having been preceded in death by 2 brothers Duane and Richard Milano, he is also survived by their wives Rebecca Milano and Patricia Milano as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Remembrance Service, in keeping with his request for a funeral like his Mother’s (one of joy and celebration of his going home) will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, March 3, at the Nicholasville United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends at 9:00 AM prior to the Service. A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 4, at Riverside Cemetery in St. Charles, Michigan . The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to serve the Milano Family.
