Donald William Young

Donald William Young, 82, loving husband of Nina Teater Young for 62 years passed away at his home on Monday, Oct. 19. He was a native of Fayette County born Feb. 10, 1933, to the late Howard Blanding and Mary Elizabeth Blankenship Young. Don was a member of Nicholasville Church of God, a US Air Force veteran, a self employed builder. He loved gardening, reading, being a taxidermist, and photography. He leaves his memories and legacy with children Dora Collins, husband Ronnie, Monte Young, Sara Nelson, husband Dustin, and Rebecca Young. Other survivors include sisters Barbara Estep and Betty Hayden, husband Wayne, sisters-in-law Roberta Stinnett and Litty Young Dean, brother-in-law Rollie Teater as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Richard Young. A Service of Remembrance will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, Oct 22, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Elder James Hicks officiating. Don will be laid to rest in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Military Honors following the Service. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Monte Young, Ronnie Collins, Dustin Nelson, Gary Teater, Wayne Hayden, Kevin Corman, Jeff May, Mack Mosley, and Eric Keith. Honorary bearers will be Rollie Teater, Lloyd Dunn, Dorian Cook, and Jason Hammons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM.
