Dorothy Irene Hager

Nicholasville: Dorothy Irene Prather Hager, 83, died Fri., Oct. 13, at Royal Manor Nursing Home. A native of Poozie Ridge in Madison County she was born Jan. 6, 1923, to the late Leslie Sherman and Nellie Runyon Stocker Prather. She was the widow of Hilton Ray Hager who died in 1986.

Dorothy was a member of the Edgewood Baptist Church and was a dedicated homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her children Betty Jo Miller, Hilton Ray ‘Dink’ Hager, Jr. and wife Martha, Burch Eugene ‘Dude’ Hager and wife Christy, and Lucy Mae Parrin, a son-in-law Jerome Woodward, and a sister Anna Mae Crouch, a sister-in-law May Prather, 9 grandchildren Michael Jay Miller, and wife Janie, Bryan Ray Hager, James Hager, Carla Stinnett and husband Morgan, Laura Sponcil and husband Todd, John Walker Woodward and wife Marsha, Kelly Sue Fite and husband Jeff, Jaci Hager, and Leigh Hager and 8 great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter Ima Jean Woodward and a brother George Edward Prather.

Services will be 1:00 PM Tues., Oct. 17, at HAGER & CUNDIFF FUNERAL HOME, W.Oak St. with Rev. Jim Harrison officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Mon., Oct. 16, at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Jessamine Co. Chapter.
