Doug Wilson, 58, of Faulconer Drive died Sat. June 22, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was the widower of Sara K. Burgess Wilson who died in 2002, and son of the late William Gordon and Alma Jean Kiser Wilson. He had been an employee of Air Tech where he worked in heating and air conditioning.
Doug was a 1973 graduate of Henry Clay High School where he played football. A prankster at heart his brothers and sisters Dewayne A. Eades, Debbie Ashley, Diane Fister, husband Terry, Duwayne Wilson and Dana Haddix endured the many jokes he played on them over the years which later carried over to his nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the NRA, loved reading, writing stories, drawing pictures and many other outdoor activities. Additional survivors include a son Jeremy Douglas Wilson, step sons Shane Wolfe wife Vanessa and Travis Wolfe, as well as grandchildren William Jacob Wilson and Savanna Wolfe.
A Service of Remembrance will be on Friday, June 28, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and he will be laid to rest beside his wife in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Mike Ransdell, Matthew Hesselbach, Kyle Grimes, Billy Wilson, Ben Lester, and T. J. Fister. Samantha and Sabrina Wilson will be honorary bearers.
